In the age of digital downloads and streaming music, the traditional album and the art of recording them is becoming extinct.  The Raveonettes have always strived to do things their own way both creatively and stylistically.

This year, The Raveonettes will break from the constraints of releasing the traditional album and release  a new song every month from now until the end of the year -  the RAVE-SOUND-OF-THE-MONTH playlist they call it, thus creating the 'anti-album' which you can subscribe to at

Their first offering, released today, is titled "This World Is Empty (Without You)" and  the duo's goal is to take their listeners on a musical journey of personal highs and lows throughout the year starting with this first track.

“Writing a simple song's super hard and challenging so it took awhile for this one to be just right. The music, the words, the vibe, everything has to be just perfect," says Sune Rose Wagner. "It’s one of the only songs I’ve ever written where adding a guitar simply didn’t work, not sure why, just happens I guess. The beat is my take on an 80’s Freestyle beat ala Debbie Deb, and the overall vibe of the song is much darker for sure”

The Raveonettes will follow "The World Is Empty (Without You)" with a new track on the last Friday of every month leading up to the final song in December.
