PANDORA® SUMMER CRUSH FEATURING IGGY AZALEA, RITA ORA, AND MAGIC!

Cold weather couldn't stop loyal fans from flocking to the Santa Monica Pier for one of the hottest concerts this summer.  This past Saturday, Pandora, the leading internet radio service, hosted a free concert featuring exclusive performances by breakout artists Iggy Azalea, Rita Ora and Magic!.  Other than being the most popular artists in the music industry today, all have had Number One songs in the United States.

Earlier in the day, fans gathered and lined-up at Santa Monica's Civic Center to get their tickets - free tickets which were all snatched-up when they became available early last month.  Of course, that was before Pandora even knew that Toronto-based Magic! would eventually land the top spot on Billboards Hot 100 Chart a couple weeks later with the song "Rude," making Magic! the first Canadian band to score a number one song since Nickelback did it in over a decade.

It goes to show how well in tune Pandora is with what's who's about to become the next breakout star. As proof, way back in March during Austin's annual SXSW, Magic! performed at Pandora's Discovery Den showcase.

Singing songs off their debut album Don't Kill the Magic, the band warmed the crowd with their reggae-inspired songs, reminding everyone on this unusually cold day, of warm, sandy beaches and sun rays browning your skin.  Don't Kill The Magic, released earlier this year from Sony Music Entertainment also spawned hits songs like "No Evil" and "Let Your Hair Down."

Rita Ora was singed to a record contract at age 18 by Jay-Z's Roc Nation.  Since then, the now 23 year-old has been a staple on UK's top charts giving her the high distinction of scoring the most UK number ones by a British female solo artist (tie with Geri Halliwell).

Iggy AzaleaNow, with her eyes set on America, the now 23 year-old has already claimed the top spot on Billboard's Dance Club Chart with "How We Do (Party)" and her newest hit single "I Will Never Let You Down" which the lead single to her upcoming second studio album.

Led by powerful vocals, Rita's songs are driven by pop melodies and infectious dance beats.  To highlight her voice, Rita sang an acoustic version of her song "Radioactive" before belting into her hits songs and crowd pleasers "How We Do (Party)" and "I Will Never Let You Down."

There's no doubt that Australian Iggy Azalea is the hottest artist in the world right now. With hits like "Fancy," "Black Widow" and "Work" taking over every music chart, Azalea brings an unrivaled confident and bold stage presence with her. This in turn shows in her music.

Most of the night, Iggy showcased songs off debut album The New Classic but managed to squeeze in some oldies like "Drop That Shit" off her 2011 mixtape Ignorant and "Murda Bizness" from her 2012 debut EP.

But with catchy melodies that intro verses like "Walk a mile in these Louboutins" to "Classic, Sinatra, bad, Phantom of the Opera," it was songs off The New Classic that Iggy featured this night.  These simple verses from "Work" and "Lady Patra" was all that was needed to prompt the Iggy faithful to sing aloud in unison before DJ Wizz Kidd revved up the explosive dance beat.

Although Rita Ora opened earlier, she didn't join Iggy onstage to sing "Black Widow" in which she was featured even tough many expected her to sing alongside her.   And with the moist, misty air trying to dampen the excitement, Iggy launched into her #1 song "Fancy,"  that echoed out towards the Pacific Ocean ending her set and ending another successful Pandora Presents event.
