When Carly Ritter hits the flowy chorus, singing "It don't come easy my love," I feel like I've been transported to the dawn of rock and roll - 50s to be exact, echoing the innocence and sun-kissed melodies of The Teen Queens, The Bobbettes and The Shirelles.  In Ritter's new video for "It Don't Come Easy," premiering on PopMatters today, she runs her infectious melody through an Instagrammed-esque filter of time-honored folk pastels awash with gentle streams of pop.  But no matter how you spell it, "It Don't Come Easy" is refreshing and vintage all at once.

Recently releasing her debut album, Carly just completed a North American Tour earlier this month and plans on jetting out again in May touring with Nathaniel Rateliff where she'll hit Los Angeles' The Echo on May 22nd. Can't wait!
