Clairy BrowneCacooned as an old soul, Clairy Browne, on the outside is retro  with 50's girl pop sheen.  On the inside, just waiting to burst out, she is fresh and new like the colorful wings of a newborn butterfly.  Combine the two and you get the infectious sounds of Clairy Browne and the Bangin' Rackettes who put on a fresh twist on the classic doo-wop harmonies by fusing them with breathless beats of soul and jazzy melodies. And with the nostalgic big band sound that includes the jazzy horn section and free-wheeling pianos, it's no wonder why Clairy Browne has been a sensation in her native Australia.

Now, after conquering Australia, Clairy Browne and the Bangin' Rackettes are looking to build their success in the U.S.  with multiple live TV performances and shows in New York and Los Angeles.  And with their scheduled first U.S. show at The Mint quickly selling out, Clairy Browne and the Bangin' Rackettes added an extra show at Santa Monica's Central SAPC.

Soulful vocals that bring up comparisons to Amy Winehouse, Browne's voice is also spiced up with flirtatious rockness that got the crowd dancing especially when she broke out into  "Baby Caught the Bus,"  an infectious tune set to the The Rackettes' silky, smooth harmonies while  "Love Letter," the international hit single which was hand-picked by Heineken for their new commercial "The Switch" ended their set with a bang.  Check it out below and you can download it on iTunes right HERE.  But Browne shines when she slows down the tempo during her sultry ballads, singing with proud, vulnerability in  "Vicious Cycle" and "Yellow Bird," accented by bluesy horn section.

Their critically acclaimed Australian debut album Baby Caught the Bus was named "Album of the Year" by ABC Radio National in Australia and will have it's official U.S. release next spring with additional new songs added to the record.
