Last night, Chicago-based dubstep trio Krewella were special guest DJs at SMOG Sundays at Dim Mak Studios  in Hollywood. It was about this month, two years ago, that the trio quit their jobs, dropped out of school to dedicate their lives on music.

Now, they just released their debut EP Play Hard which premiered on top of the Beatport chart when it was released last week.  Comprised of Kris “Rain Main” Trindl and sisters Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf, ‘The Krew’ as they’re known to their fans, broke out in a big way with their single “Killin It” after it went viral via Facebook and Twitter and are now readying themselves from playing small venues to larger clubs and festivals in less than a year’s time.   Mixing pop infused with the in-your-face, blaring bass and drum beats, Krewella presents a unique and infectious sound to their electro-dance-music which are delivered over catchy female pop-vocals. Currently, their EP is streaming on Soundcloud and you can listen to the whole right HERE. And you can catch them when they return to Southern California on July 29th when they play the Ten Nightclub in Newport Beach.
