News breaks that The French/Finnish duo, The Dø  will return to tour North America just as they announce the digital release of Both Ways Open Jaws Extended. The new album will be released on July 10th through Six Degrees Records and includes a collection of live versions of tracks off The Do's two main albums as well as two new songs titled "Mind Police" and Jonelle Monae's "Tightrope."

The Dø is everything in between, balancing between pop, rock and sometimes bordering R&B and folk-rock. Mix all these ingredients together and you get The Dø. Their first English album titled, A Mouthful pulled from all genres of music and included the hypnotic, trance-inducing "On My Shoulders."

They were the first French act to score a #1 record in France with an album sung in English. Often compared to artists like Feist, Lykki Li, MIA and Robyn, they released their second album, Both Ways Open Jaws that has critics singing it praises as ..."A late contender for album of they year" by The London Times and a critic from the Daily Telegraph wrote "Dø are the first French band I've ever heard who are actually brilliant" while Amazon.com calls their album, "One of the outstanding albums you may have missed in 2011."

The  Dø kicks off their North American tour July 25th at LA's own Satellite.  Check them out to see why they've recently been nominated for "Up & Comer" Best New Artist Award at the First Annual A2IM Limbera Awards. Below are a couple of my favorite songs from The Dø.
