The second annual Culture Collide Festival starts tomorrow (Oct. 6-9) in venues all over Silver Lake and culminates on Sunday with an all-day free block party consisting of three stages with headline acts like Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!, CSS and Avi Buffalo. Culture Collide is a four-day international festival that brings some of the best up and coming bands from all over the world to perform in some of Los Angeles’ premiere musical venues including The Echo and the Echoplex . More than 10,000 people attended last year to watch 54 bands from 16 countries. What’s even more exciting is the mass contingency of women-fronted bands ready to take over Silver Lake during Culture Collide. From Mexico’s Ximena Sarinana, Denmark’s The Asteroids Galaxy Tour to Columbia’s V for Volume, girls are gonna be the headlines at this year’s festival. Just check out some of bands I’ll definitely be checking out this year.
