Anybody watch the season premiere of “Platinum Hit” on Bravo? Anyways, I happened to watch a re-airing of it and noticed Los Angeles local Jes Hudak as a contestant. Yay for Jes. We first noticed her from her music video “National Holiday” and later saw her performing at last year’s Lilith Fair.

Jes Hudak won a local talent search and got a spot to play at Lilith. This, along with Hudak’s experience and talent, no doubt helped her get on the show. She's been on tour and opened for acts such as Maroon 5, Tonic and Five for Fighting. And Jes was named ISSA's Singer/Songwriter of the Year (2009) and won Pop Single of the Year (2009) at the LA Music Awards for heroriginal song "Another Day." But the song that won her the shot to play Lilith Fair is "National Holiday."

“Platinum Hit,” styled in a “Project Runway” style format pits singer/songwriters against each other in their quest to become the next hitmaker, following 12 contestants battling out in a series of songwriting challenges. The winner will receive a cash prize of $100,000, a publishing deal with Sony and a recording deal with RCA/Jive. How cool is that?! Hosting the competition is Jewel who will also judge alongside Kara DioGuardi. The show is an insider’s view of how these talented artists write a song from start to finish and goes to show how hard it truly is to write a hit song. In it's first episode, Jes was part of the team that won the first writing competition - to write a song about the City of Angels. Check out the winning song below. “Platinum Hit’ airs Mondays on Bravo.
