THE MILLIONAIRES

I've been home for the past month hence the lack of updates but get this. I'm reading the morning paper while eating breakfast and I come across this super cool techno-dance/pop trio from Los Angeles! Described as a cross between The Beastie Boys and Peaches, The Millionaires are Melissa Marie, Dani and Allison who started out, according to them, as a joke. They're currently on tour so check your local listings. Below, I've attached two articles from HERE and HERE! Enjoy!

So, you think that tune you've been tinkering with on GarageBand isn't going anywhere, even if you post it on MySpace? Ask Melissa Green what happened when she put one out there.

"None of us play instruments of any sort," said Green, 20. "My mom bought my sister (Allison) and I Mac computers, and we just started playing around on GarageBand.

"Allison and I made our first song by ourselves, and it turned out really funny, so we just made a quick MySpace page. We got thousands of plays and thousands of friends; it was nuts. It just started blowing up the first day."

Fast forward eight months from when the Green sisters posted their first song and, along with close friend Dani Artaud, the trio is attracting attention as Millionaires.

Sure, it's a band name, not a bank roll. But, as the sassy electro-pop trio's first summer of touring brings them Sunday to Modesto, no one can say where it's all going to lead.

After playing clubs such as the Roxy and the Troubadour in their native Los Angeles, and doing one-off dates in Las Vegas and Fresno, Millionaires are ready to test the touring waters now that their frenetic beats and club anthems are finding their way to the nation's dance floors. The trio's still-infant project already has generated some major label interest, but that makes sense considering the rapid, right-place-right-time roller coaster of the past few months.

Millionaires may just have pulled off one of the biggest pranks in music history - again.

What started as a joke courtesy of a Christmas gift from Mom and Dad - sisters Melissa-Marie and Allison, along with best friend Dani (forget their surnames) - have become the biggest accidental overnight “netsations” since the “Chocolate Rain” YouTube guy.
